September 30, 2010 – After a year-long beta period of end-user testing and feedback, OmniPACS 1.0 has been released. The updated program is designed to permit faster and more efficient data sharing with selected members of the user’s online contact list. This means that providers, doctors and patients can maintain relationships with one another and exchange medical images in a more intuitive way.

Chili USA and its partners introduced OmniPACS in 2009, combining high-resolution diagnostic imaging with innovations from Web 2.0 concepts. OmniPACS provides FDA-approved diagnostic precision with features like file sharing, commenting and community building.

Upgrades that evolved from OmniPACS beta include features that enable users to assign account types and categories (i.e., patients, providers and professionals), integrate their e-mail for the ultimate mobile image-sharing experience, and allow technical resellers and professional groups to sell branded data archiving and sharing services. The enabling technology, developed in partnership with Chili USA, is based on the new interactive Web 2.0 and cloud computing, which permits more innovative approaches to data sharing and information management. OmniPACS authorized users pay monthly fees ranging from a few cents to a few dollars to send and store any image with no upfront fees or capital investment required.
