June 2, 2010 - Elekta AB, a Swedish Medical technology company, announced June 1, it acquired oncology imaging developer Resonant Medical Inc. of Montreal, Canada, for $30 million in Canadian dollars.

Resonant Medical develops systems for image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) of soft tissues using 3-D ultrasound technology. Founded in 2000, the company has 35 employees, most of whom are based in Montreal.

Elekta will consolidate Resonant Medical effective immediately. Resonant Medical is expected to register revenue of some CAD10 Million in fiscal 2010-2011, started 1 May 2010. The transaction will have a minor dilutive effect on reported EPS for 2010-2011 and will be slightly accretive in the next financial year.
