MX 16-slice CT

August 18, 2009 - Philips Healthcare announces the first commercial shipments of the MX 16-slice CT scanner to customer sites around the globe.

The MX system is designed to offer fast high-resolution scanning, shorter breath-hold times and improved patient comfort. Philips has supplied the producers of the hit television show “Grey’s Anatomy” with a MX 16-slice CT scanner for the fall 2009 season.

The 16-slice system suits clinicians who want to replace their current scanner or add a second system, but have purchasing cost concerns stemming from economic pressures. The MX is capable of executing reportedly all routine applications, including exams like CT angiography (CTA), where a 16-slice scanner is typically required. It is also ideal for those clinicians who may want to add a scanner to expand their clinical services in the areas of CTA, dental planning and virtual colonoscopy.

The Philips MX 16-slice CT scanner system offers:
• Easy-to-use workflow for efficient operation
• Dose-reduction techniques designed to decrease radiation dose while maintaining high-image quality
• A compact design and footprint that can fit in even the smallest space, for simplified site planning and daily dependability

The MX is fully compatible with the Extended Brilliance Workspace and Brilliance Workspace Portal.
