Solos Endoscopy's MammoView instrument line dedicated to breast endoscopy is designed for easy use in operating rooms, surgery centers, medical offices and outpatient clinics. The FDA approved MammoView system produces clear and precise video images allowing for direct observation of extremely confined sites such as the lining of the mammary ducts.
Nearly all breast cancers originate in the epithelial lining of the mammary ducts. Most breast cancers develop very slowly and remain confined to the mammary ducts for a long period of time.
The system includes a retractable dilator in a sheaf that gently opens the ductal orifice at the nipple. When the sheath has been inserted into the mammary duct, the dilator is withdrawn leaving the sheath in position. Irrigation or visualization optics can then be introduced into the mammary duct via the introduced cannula allowing physicians to perform a variety of intraductal procedures with minimal or no discomfort for patients. Images can be captured in a variety of formats using its DIS2000 technology for consultation and comparison.
Early state precancerous cells known as atypical ductal hyperplasia (ADH) if detected and treated while within the mammary duct system would result in substantially better treatment outcomes, very high survivability, avoidance of chemotherapy and radiation, and much better breast conservation.
