February 23, 2011 – A new vendor-neutral archive (VNA) adds significant enterprise capabilities, including cloud-enablement, workflow services, and improved performance and scalability. DICOM Services Grid 5.3, from Acuo Technologies, also has enhanced storage virtualization capabilities. It integrates directly to cloud storage solutions as well as virtualization of the clinical application stack, with multi-tenet capabilities being integrated and offered by cloud solution providers. "The 5.3 release of Acuo's DICOM Services Grid adds support for a workflow services layer composed of Web services and RESTful interfaces, augmenting our SOA capabilities," said Razvan Atanasiu, Acuo's vice president of engineering. The workflow services layer provides access to third parties, HIE/portal solutions, cloud and other providers of Acuo's solutions to drive data movement, pre-fetching, tag mapping/morphing, and access to clinical content under management within the archive.
