Vision RT Creates Markerless Surface Tracking for 4D CT Reconstruction

November 1, 2007 - Vision RT launched its recently FDA-cleared GateCT that tracks the 3D surface of a patient in order to facilitate 4DCT data acquisition or prospective gated CT image data.

System features include automatic detection of abnormal breathing, low tracking latency, automatic detection of patient movement and more.

The company also showcased that GateRT tracks respiratory motion in real-time in order to gate radiation delivery or diagnostic imaging according to the breathing cycle. The systems are noninvasive and do not require the application of external markers or any other physical device to the patient, according to the company. The wealth of information derived by GateCT from the tracked surface data of the patient provide the opportunity to perform advanced respiratory gating during radiation therapy.
