Prostate, proton therapy

Varian Medical Systems will be demonstrating its latest radiotherapy and radiosurgery technologies and software July 31 – August 3 in Washington, D.C., at the 2016 American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) show. The company will also be hosting a developer workshop July 29-30. Solutions highlighted in booth demonstrations include: RapidPlan knowledge-based planning software; Velocity 3.2 with Adaptive Synthetic CT which reconciles the anatomy of the CBCT image with the quality of the CT simulation for offline adaptive dose tracking; ProBeam Proton Therapy System, a fully-integrated image-guided IMPT (intensity-modulated proton therapy) solution for adaptive therapy; and Eclipse for Proton, showcasing the latest advances in proton planning including field specific target, robust optimization and Acuros PT, a state-of-the-art proton Monte Carlo algorithm for proton therapy planning.
