Treatment Planning, Radiation Oncology Tools Stress Accuracy

At ASTRO 2006, Philips will be showcasing advanced treatment-planning options and radiation oncology products designed to improve image quality and quantification capabilities, streamline workflow and aid in the ability to provide accurate diagnosis.
Philips-exclusive Tumor LOC application allows the user to assess motion of respiratory correlated studies. The ability to review patients’ breathing pattern and easily draw contours encompassing the range of motion over the entire respiratory cycle simplifies this procedure.
Pinnacle3 is a radiation oncology toolbox offering the tools needed for the future of adaptive radiation therapy planning and tumor dose. Physics modeling tools help physicists ensure that a dose algorithm is accurate and precise to help avoid dosing healthy tissues and increase patient comfort.
AcQSim3 addresses the special needs of radiation therapy simulation and treatment planning for cancer patients. A fully integrated simulation solution built upon the Pinnacle3 radiation therapy-planning platform, AcQSim3 is reportedly the only commercial full CT simulation system on the market with absolute marking.
