Storage, Networking System Offers Large Capacity, Secure Analysis

February 25, 2008 – At HIMSS 2008, Hifn showcased Swarm, secure iSCSI storage appliances that allow users to add a secure IP Storage Area Network that is reportedly able to handle large PACS files and securely share patient records and images for local or remote analysis and diagnoses by medical specialists to their existing infrastructure.

The system has a complete set of storage services, including data encryption, storage consolidation, snapshot, replication, central management, automatic backup and support for both iSCSI and NAS in the same appliance. The system is HIPAA-compliant in its standard configuration.
