November 5, 2009 - Philips has signed an eight-year combined iSite PACS replacement and Xcelera deal to meet radiology and cardiology image management needs at Lakeland Regional Medical Center, a not-for-profit, 851-bed facility serving central Fla.

The seamless interface between iSite PACS and Xcelera solutions will be replacing siloed legacy PACS systems. Lakeland Regional Medical Center chose Philips’ healthcare informatics solutions as a strategy to provide this seamless interface for images and overcome workflow challenges associated with image management. For both radiology and cardiology images, Philips iSite PACS system will make images and diagnostic information easily accessible anywhere throughout the Lakeland Regional Medical Center clinical community. The Philips Xcelera system will provide a single point of access to data from key cardiac subspecialties.

“We were looking for more than an image management solution. We were looking for technology to help improve the care of our patients and a practical way to purchase during these tough economic times,” said Hugh Autry, vice president, Operations, for Lakeland Regional Medical Center. “Philips worked with us to find a solution that met our clinical, technical and financial needs associated with broad image management. We were able to avoid prohibitive up-front and repetitive capital expenditures associated with implementing and maintaining a traditional PACS system. Philips made it possible for us to add new technology to our roster, helping us speed diagnosis and better serve our patients.”
