April 26, 2007 – Vision RT recently introduced its AlignRT, a non-invasive radiation therapy system designed with tools for tracking the 3-D surface of patients for both patient setup and real-time monitoring.
AlignRT utilizes 3-D imaging technology to produce high resolution and 3-D surface data referenced to the treatment center. The system consists of two ceiling mounted 3-D camera units, focused toward the center of either a simulator or treatment room. Using proprietary 3-D tracking technology, AlignRT's respiratory gated imaging enables 3-D data to be acquired repeatedly at the same point in the breathing cycle.
A real-time display and color-coded difference map helps guide the correction of the patient's posture and enables continuous, remote, 3-D monitoring of the patient’s position during treatment. Remote FSD checking tools are also provided.
