NDS Surgical Imaging Acquires Dome Imaging

August 7, 2008 — NDS Surgical Imaging (“NDSsi”) said it has acquired Dome Imaging Systems, the medical business unit of Planar Systems Inc.

Dome manufactures medical display products for diagnostic imaging and patient care applications. Dome’s customers include global Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) OEM suppliers and medical IT resellers to healthcare providers.

“Bringing together these two respected global leaders in medical visualization provides a wealth of technology for advanced informatics solutions, enabling the clinician to better diagnose and treat patients in both Radiology and Surgical environments,” said John Murphy, president and CEO of NDSsi. “The combined entity now has the unique capability to connect the realms of PACS imaging and surgical video/informatics, delivering valuable innovation to the radiology reading room and the operating room alike. Our combined capabilities will enhance our OEM customers’ and the practitioners’ clinical confidence in the development and use of new medical visualization applications.”
