MIMcontouring Advanced Optimizes RTP Workflow

MIMvista will showcase its MIMcontouring Advanced at ASTRO 2008. MIMcontouring Advanced aims to optimize RTP workflow with automatic deformable contouring, using the VoxAlign Deformation Engine, allowing for Atlas-based segmentation and re-contouring for Adaptive Therapy and gated studies.
Atlas-based segmentation automatically generates entire structure sets – including target volumes, dramatically reducing time for initial contour generation. Adaptive re-contouring deforms contours from an original planning CT to a new planning CT, reportedly making true adaptive radiation therapy practical. Entire gated CT studies can be contoured automatically by deforming contours from a single phase to match the anatomy on all phases. Deformable co-registration corrects for non-rigid differences in alignment allowing PET/CT’s to be aligned with greater accuracy to the planning CT, even when the PET/CT was not obtained in treatment position. MIM provides reportedly efficiency and time savings to optimize workflow and enhance patient care.
