Gregory T. Freiherr
Former ITN contributor and columnist Greg Freiherr passed away Sept. 10, 2026 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. He was 72.
Freiherr was a technology journalist and an imaging industry consultant who reported on developments in radiology and health IT for more than 40 years and operated his own technology consulting service, The Freiherr Group.
Frehiherr authored ITN’s Last read column as well as feature articles and blogs and produced videos for the ITN audience.
An award-winning technology journalist, his column, "Deals Proliferate in Dangerous World of CT” as well as his blog series on the changing computed tomography market were finalists for the Jesse H. Neal Award — the Pulitzer Prize of the business press.
