Medicsight Features ColonCAD with Integrated Advanced Visualization Partners

Medicsight will be showing its ColonCAD product, integrated with a number of advanced visualization partners, including Vital Images, Viatronix, TeraRecon and Barco. The system reportedly offers a safe, rapid and minimally invasive means of imaging the entire colon. ColonCAD aims to release the full potential of CT colonography by improving the accuracy and productivity of detecting polyps in the colon.

By using an advanced CAD algorithm to review CT scan data and automatically highlight specific regions of interest, Medicsight ColonCAD reportedly provides a valuable tool for reviewing clinicians to support their search for abnormalities within the colon that may be the early precursors of potential life threatening disease.

Artificial Intelligence Provides Faster, Clearer MRI Scans

A new artificial-intelligence-based approach to image reconstruction, called AUTOMAP, yields higher quality images from less data, reducing radiation doses for CT and PET and shortening scan times for MRI. Shown here are MR images reconstructed from the same data with conventional approaches, at left, and AUTOMAP, at right. Athinoula A.
