Cloud-based solution provides medical imaging providers with reliable data archiving and recovery services

October 30, 2012 – Intelerad Medical Systems announced the release of Nuage Disaster Recovery Services, which provides hosted data archiving and disaster recovery solutions for hospitals and ambulatory imaging providers.

“As a leader in distributed radiology solutions, providing optimal data security for customers has long been a primary objective for us,” said Rick Rubin, chief engineering officer, Intelerad. “With Nuage, we are able to provide medical imaging centers with reliable data archiving and recovery services, all within a flexible, scalable solution.”

Built on Intelerad’s Nuage Cloud Imaging Platform by Intelerad, Nuage Disaster Recovery Services combine the speed of online storage, the security of remote cloud-replicated data, and the protection of traditional on-site backups, all smoothly integrated with existing Intelerad environments.

Nuage Disaster Recovery Services are deployed with expert guidance by Intelerad’s services team, leveraging the latest in redundancy best practices and risk assessments. Nuage is supported and managed by Intelerad’s expert PACS and infrastructure engineers, with 24/7 monitoring and proactive alerts to IT departments of any infrastructure failures.

“We designed Nuage around strategically located data centers that are rated to 99.999% up-time, which gives IT teams peace of mind while safely minimizing costs,” said Rubin. “Furthermore, given the service’s scalability, not only are customers provided a reliable infrastructure, but they're able to dynamically expand their use of the service as their practice and data volumes grow unpredictably.”

Nuage Disaster Recovery Services come with flexible pricing models that match the changing cost and infrastructure needs of imaging providers.  In doing so, organizations can reduce their risks and IT costs by planning for the protection they need, but paying only for the service they use.
