Hologic, a leading developer, manufacturer and supplier of diagnostic and medical imaging systems for women’s healthcare, digital imaging technology for general radiography and mammography applications, completed a $220 million acquisition of computer-aided detection (CAD) firm R2 Technology of Sunnyvale, CA.
According to sources at Hologic, the purchase price for the transaction is payable in approximately 4.6 million shares of common stock.
