Aqua provides software link between disparate systems, manages workload, scheduling and reporting of routine QA tasks

December 31, 2014 — Elekta has entered into an agreement with Acumyn Inc. to commercialize its integrated Quality Management System, Aqua. The system enables multiple mechanical, dosimetric and imaging QA tests to be conducted, analyzed and reported across the radiotherapy clinic.

The Elekta version of the Aqua system has been developed in collaboration with Princess Margaret Cancer Centre in Toronto, one of Elekta's long-standing  partners, and is based on a system version that has been in use for over a year, connecting more than 20 machines.

Other features of the Aqua quality management system include:

·       Workflow automation and streamlining

·       Aligned to regulatory and professional body guidelines

·       Centralized QA Information Management (database)

·       Real-time auto alerts to areas requiring immediate attention.

Elekta will initially pilot Aqua at selected sites before adding it to its commercial portfolio.
