Elekta Expands Gamma Knife Production Line

The Leksell Gamma Knife Perfexion provides a radiosurgical platform for refinement and expansion of procedures in the brain, cervical spine and head and neck regions.
The new introduction from Elekta is not like its predecessors. The Leksell allows for increased treatable volume and is estimated to increase the number of patients that benefit from gamma knife surgery up to 40 percent.
With the patented collimator design, the neurosurgeon or radiation oncologist has almost unlimited ability for sculpting the dose to produce accurate dose distributions. The system also comes with Leksell GammaPlan PFX, a client-based treatment planning system with remote capabilities that provides the tools needed to make full use of the new features of the Leksell Gamma Knife Perfexion.
