Dilon Unwraps Gamma Localization System

Dilon Technologies has unwrapped GammaLoc, a works-in-progress gamma-guided localization system for gamma-guided biopsies.
Dilon also displayed upgrades to its Dilon 6800 gamma camera, featuring new position-sensitive photomultiplier tubes that provide a larger active area and improved imaging along detector edges. The portable system mimics standard mammographic views, images up to the chest wall, and resolves lesions as small as 3 mm.
The device is used for a diagnostic breast workup as a complementary imaging modality to mammography, early detection of breast cancer and evaluation of disease extent.
