June 22, 2009 - CIVCO Medical Solutions is now offering the L25 Series Needle Guide, transverse needle guides are designed for use with SonoSite’s L25 transducer series for MicroMaxx, S Series and M-Turbo systems.

CIVCO’s L25 Series Needle Guide aims to provide physicians with increased first-time insertion success rates during ultrasound-guided central line placement and nerve-block procedures. The system utilizes a two-part system consisting of a custom reusable biopsy bracket and the disposable snap-on L25 Series Needle Guide. The single-use design of the needle guide, along with a telescopically-folded CIV-Flex transducer cover, reduces the risk of cross-contamination and increases patient throughput. Together, these tools offer physicians reduced technique variability, a shorter learning curve and reduced procedure time.

The L25 Series Needle Guide incorporates advanced features to increase productivity during ultrasound-guided central line placement and nerve-block procedures. The single-use guide offers an intuitive, easy-to-use design that is ready for use after just one click – no additional assembly is required. The needle guide features a large easy-sliding tab for a simple quick-release function, allowing easy detachment of the needle from the transducer. Color-coded gauge sizes and depths are provided to make it easy to identify proper gauge sizes. The guide features a large instrument insertion point and will accept 18, 21 and 22 gauge sizes. The gauge sizes offer the most complete depths in the industry, allowing access in all body types. Depths include 1 cm, 1.5 cm, 2 cm, 2.5 cm, 3.5 cm and 4.5 cm.
