Cedara Software, a Merge Healthcare company, today announced the release of a new version of its DICOM toolkit, MergeCOM-3, which has been redesigned for the Microsoft .NET development environment. Cedara's MergeCOM-3 toolkit is a Software Developers Kit (SDK) that supports flexible DICOM connectivity for software applications.
According to the manufacturer, MergeCOM-3 reduces the time required to bring DICOM-conformant products to market in any area of medical technology because it enables developers to focus on their application program logic rather than specific details of the DICOM protocol.
"I think the engineering community will be very pleased with our new version of MergeCOM-3," said Peter Bascom, vice president of Engineering at Cedara. "In software development, engineers are generally divided into two camps - those who are diehard supporters of .NET and those who are not. With this new release, a broader community of developers will be able to use Cedara's leading edge tools for DICOM connectivity, which will accelerate their software development projects."
