Breast MR Uses HD to Improve Imaging

March 5, 2008 – GE brought to NCBC its Signa Vibrant dedicated 1.5T breast MR scanner using HD technology and applications specifically designed for breast MR, including: VIBRANT acquisition, BREASE spectroscopy, integrated CADstream (manufactured by Confirma) and a specially designed breast MR patient table that aims to provide better imaging and improved access for intervention.

To help improve public awareness and knowledge of breast cancer, GE will apply a portion of the proceeds from Signa Vibrant sales toward breast cancer education and awareness programs.

MRI "Glove" Provides New Look at Hand Anatomy

An experiment showed that a glove-shaped detector could yield images of bones, cartilage, and muscles interacting as a hand 'plays piano.' Traditionally, MRI had required patients to remain strictly motionless.Image courtesy of Nature Biomedical Engineering; Bei Zhang, Martijn Cloos, Daniel Sodickson
