June 30, 2011 — During the first quarter of 2011, Biosound Esaote completed a name transition to become Esaote North America. The purpose of this transition was to emphasize the relationship with its parent company, the Esaote Group.
Headquartered in Genoa, Italy, Esaote has been in business for 30 years and is well established in ultrasound diagnostic imaging equipment and dedicated magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Through its subsidiaries and an international distribution network, the company is present in more than 60 countries worldwide.
Biosound Esaote was acquired by its parent in 1991 and at that time exclusively sold ultrasound systems for the cardiovascular market. Today, Esaote North America is a major marketer of portable and console-based ultrasound systems for all applications and dedicated MRI systems in the musculoskeletal arena.
