64-Bit PACS Enables Larger Image-Volume Viewing
To overcome memory limitations and system performance issues associated with 32-bit technology, especially for CT, breast MR, PET/CT and other large studies, Merge Healthcare recently announced the release of Fusion PACS MX version 2.2 with native 64-bit processing.
The 64-bit processing solution is designed to enable radiologists to overcome limitations on their computer systems’ memory usage, to view, compare and manipulate larger studies. The 64-bit reportedly allows users to load any study with as many relevant priors as needed without limitation on the workstation, leading to more efficient and effective reading.
