GE Healthcare, a business division of General Electric Company, announced it is joining with RadNet, a network of outpatient diagnostic imaging centers, to pilot its Best Pathways initiative, a breast cancer detection optimization model. GE Healthcare and RadNet will evaluate the clinical breast cancer detection process to quantify inefficient diagnostic patterns and identify optimal paths to lower cost and improve patient outcomes. This program will focus on subpopulations of women in which guidelines are lacking and substantial variability is observed in clinical practice.

January 12, 2011 — RadNet Inc., a provider of diagnostic imaging services with a network of 200 fully-owned and operated outpatient imaging centers, has acquired imaging centers in Brooklyn and Orchard Park, N.Y., from Presgar Imaging and affiliated entities for cash consideration of $2.2 million, plus the assumption of approximately $700,000 of debt.
December 29, 2010 – RadNet, a diagnostic imaging service provider, will acquire Imaging On Call for $5.5 million. An additional compensation of $2.5 million will be given if Imaging On Call achieves certain 2011 performance milestones.
The acquisition will allow RadNet to enter the teleradiology business. It is expected to close on or around December 31, 2010.
