September 27, 2007 - A new report issued by risk experts Marsh and The Albright Group warns the catastrophic impacts of a long-lasting pandemic are not only likely to happen, but overdue, and offers ideas for best practices to be prepared.
The study also states the impact of a pandemic is likely to exceed what most corporate and governmental leaders have imagined, or are prepared for. This comes on the heels of U.S. government reports issued earlier this month that come to similar conclusions.

September 26, 2007 – Medical device maker Maquet Inc. will be named Vendor of the Year by the New Jersey Society for Respiratory Care (NJSRC) Oct. 4, in Atlantic City, NJ.
This will be the second Vendor of the Year award received by Maquet. The maker says TransportTracking has been helping hundreds of hospitals expedite and measure hospital transport teams for more than a decade and at the 2007 ASHES/NAHTM Conference Oct. 1, in St. Louis. TeleTracking will be showcasing this new mobile version.

September 27, 2007 - Proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H MRS) used in conjunction with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can aid radiologists in diagnosing breast cancer while reducing the number of false-positive results and invasive biopsies, according to a study focusing on non-mass enhancing breast lesions. The study, conducted at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, appears in the October issue of the journal Radiology.
