Carestream Health announced worldwide price increases on all of its medical imaging, dental and non-destructive testing films. Film prices will increase as much as 50 percent or more in some areas of the world.

April 21, 2011 – Frost and Sullivan has given Kjaya Medical the 2011 North American Technology Innovation Award in Web-based Medical Imaging Data Management for its VoXcell Imaging Suite. The cloud-based technology makes complete PACS, RIS, image archiving and communications functionalities—plus a full range of advanced visualization tools—accessible through a standard web browser.

April 20, 2011 – GE Healthcare has acquired the assets of Steady State Imaging (SSI), a Minneapolis-based company that develops magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology. The terms of agreement were not disclosed.
