Sept. 29, 2026 — The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) has named Siemens Healthineers the inaugural recipient of its Corporate Partner Award, a new recognition honoring an organization whose extraordinary commitment, generosity and collaboration have made a lasting impact on the field of radiation oncology and patients worldwide.
The award was presented at the 2026 ASTRO Annual Meeting in Boston. Siemens Healthineers also was recognized tat the first ASTRO Gold Medal Gala, which honors leaders and partners across the radiation oncology community while raising funds to advance radiation medicine research through Speed of Light – The ASTRO Foundation.
“Collaboration across the radiation oncology community is essential to moving our field forward and improving care for patients,” said ASTRO CEO Vivek S. Kavadi, MD, MBA, FASTRO. “For decades, Siemens Healthineers and Varian have worked alongside radiation oncology professionals as the science and technology of cancer treatment have evolved. Their longstanding partnership with ASTRO reflects a shared commitment to continued innovation and to expanding what is possible for people with cancer.”
Long-Standing Corporate Member
Siemens Healthineers, through Varian, is one of ASTRO’s longest-standing corporate members. A pioneer in radiation oncology technology, the company has contributed to advances that shaped modern radiation therapy and continue to influence how treatment is planned and delivered today. Its partnership with ASTRO has also sustained research and workforce development across the career pipeline, including support for industry-based clinical research fellowships for resident physicians and ASTRO’s Medical Student Fellowship Awards, which provide medical students with mentored research experiences in radiation medicine.
