August 4, 2026 - ASCEND Cardiovascular and Epsilon Imaging have announced a strategic non-exclusive partnership designed to deliver an integrated, "best-of-breed" solution for clinical echo analysis, reading and reporting. By natively connecting ASCEND’s enterprise structured reporting with Epsilon’s EchoInsight Zero Footprint (ZF) advanced echo analysis with strain imaging platform, the integrated solution eliminates workflow friction, simplifies clinical workflow, and expands access to critical cardiac function measurements like speckle tracking strain imaging.

Simplifying Advanced Echo Analysis and Reporting

Echocardiography labs increasingly viewspeckle-tracking strain imaging, especially Longitudinal Strain (GLS), as essential for assessing cardiotoxicity in oncology, monitoring heart failure, and managing complex valvular disease. However, traditional echo workflows are often fragmented, requiring clinicians to move between disconnected systems, manually searching imaging loops for the right views to analyze and hand-entering strain measurements into the structured report. ASCEND and Epsilon’s new tightly synchronized, bidirectional integration directly addresses these workflow challenges.

A Unified, Closed-Loop Workflow 

The combined ASCEND enterprise and EchoInsight ZF solution delivers a seamless, automated reading environment built on the following core pillars:

  • Native Workspace Continuity: Clinicians can launch EchoInsight ZF as a fluid, contextual overlay directly within ASCEND’s high-performance web-based image visualization platform (InView), ensuring they never lose their place within a study.

  • Algorithmic View Classification: By leveraging ASCEND's AI-based Categorical Hanging Image Protocol (CHIP) algorithm, the system pre-identifies and labels specific views (e.g. Apical 2, 3, 4, LAX, SAX). The EchoInsight receives a pre-sorted package of images, eliminating manual sifting and accelerating advanced echo analysis with speckle-tracking strain imaging.

  • Closed-Loop Data Exchange: Data entry is entirely hands-free, eliminating manual transcription errors. Within seconds, EchoInsight ZF automatically generates over 100 highly standardized, measurements and cardiac function and straining imaging measurements based on American Society of Echocardiography chamber quantification guidelines and recommendations. These robust DICOM Structured Reports (SR), complex measurements, and quantitative traces map directly and seamlessly back into ASCEND Gen3Echo structured reporting templates.

  • Integrated Serial Tracking: Clinicians can leverage EchoInsight ZF’s comprehensive Comparison Dashboard alongside ASCEND’s historical reporting data for the precise, side-by-side longitudinal tracking of myocardial strain and cardiac measurements over time.

Pediatric and Congenital Cardiovascular Care

The operational challenges of advanced imaging are magnified in pediatric and congenital cardiology. Pediatric labs routinely adapt to highly complex anatomical anomalies where measurements must be calculated against rapidly changing growth charts using pediatric Z-scores.

The combined ASCEND and EchoInsight ZF solution revolutionizes congenital care. ASCEND Pediatrics, which natively incorporates lesion-specific templates, Z-score calculators, and complex diagramming, pairs seamlessly with EchoInsight ZF’s pediatric application. This gives congenital labs a powerful, unified environment to efficiently track complex myocardial mechanics over multiple longitudinal studies.
