May 11, 2023 — The American College of Radiology (ACR) unveiled its new brand as a centerpiece of its first 100-year celebration at ACR 2023, the College’s annual meeting in Washington, DC. Featuring the theme — “Focused. Forward. Together.” — the new ACR branding will roll out during the next several weeks.

“Celebrating its centennial year, ACR’s new branding is bold, inclusive and forward-thinking,” said Jacqueline A. Bello, MD, FACR, chair, ACR Board of Chancellors. “The new branding, which includes a new logo and tagline, captures the College’s position as a champion for radiology and emphasizes that ACR will have significant impact on every member’s future and ability to care for our patients.”

“The College helps shape the profession, the industry and the future of radiology, and this new branding is a reflection of those efforts,” said William T. Thorwarth Jr., MD, FACR, CEO of ACR. “While honoring the first 100 years of ACR, we are focused on serving as the voice of our members and working with them to advance radiology and deliver the highest quality healthcare.”

The new branding also ties into ACR’s new strategic plan — “Empowering the Radiologist of the Future” — that will increase member value, improve radiologic care and strengthen healthcare for all.

“The College and its members are partners in radiology’s progress, and together we are ensuring that radiologists are integral to the future of healthcare,” said William Herrington, MD, FACR, chair of the ACR Commission on Membership and Communications.

In the 100 years since its founding, the ACR has grown to more than 40,000 members. Young physicians are attracted to radiology by technological advances fostered by the ACR and its members, including rapidly evolving uses of artificial intelligence.

“ACR’s growth over the past several years, and increasing involvement of our younger members, has served as a catalyst for the new branding,” said Neil Lall, MD, chair of the Brand Refresh Committee. “The committee, ACR leadership and staff have worked tirelessly over the last 18 months to bring this to life, and we are pleased to have a brand that represents the College’s vision.”
