The collaboration provides decision support and creates workflow efficiencies for radiologists

Elsevier, a global leader in research publishing and information analytics, is pleased to announce it has integrated STATdx, its diagnostic decision support tool for radiologists, into the Nuance Communications PowerScribe radiology reporting software.

December 16, 2021 — Elsevier, a global leader in research publishing and information analytics, is pleased to announce it has integrated STATdx, its diagnostic decision support tool for radiologists, into the Nuance Communications PowerScribe radiology reporting software.

This collaboration enables radiologists to seamlessly launch STATdx within their workflow, creating efficiencies and providing clinical insight when reviewing exams.

Josh Schoeller, President, Clinical Solutions, Elsevier: “The healthcare industry is continuing to grapple with the impact of the pandemic, and radiologists are among those healthcare practitioners facing increased rates of burnout; 37.4% of radiologists report feelings of burnout according to a recent study by Journal of the American College of Radiology. The Elsevier and Nuance collaboration combines Nuance’s AI-driven reporting capabilities with the diagnosis support powered by STATdx. Together, we will provide radiologists with a solution that allows them to best utilize their time, while making a difference for patients.”

The integration benefits include:

  • Improved user satisfaction with streamlined workflow that helps combat burnout.
  • Increased diagnostic confidence and accuracy with seamless access to trusted information.
  • Enhanced reporting with easily accessible decision support that helps radiologists create more robust reports with actionable information for ordering clinicians.

The new integration utilizes the Nuance PowerScribe “Assisted Diagnosis” feature that provides links to radiology resources based upon report content.  Radiologists can select or enter text about a topic, and then choose STATdx from the Assisted Diagnosis feature to look for results within context.
