Glass-free and long-length innovations improve provider workflow and increase patient comfort

Carestream Health’s medical imaging detectors will be spotlighted at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference beginning on Nov. 28.

November 15, 2021 — Carestream Health’s medical imaging detectors will be spotlighted at the Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference beginning on Nov. 28.

Carestream now offers its first glass-free cesium medical detector to the market, the Lux 35 Detector, with superb resolution, better detail and a reduced exposure dose as compared to gadolinium detectors. Weighing around five pounds (including the battery), the Lux 35 Detector is lightweight, glass-free and wireless—a detector totally redesigned with ergonomic features including beveled edges, rounded corners and built-in finger grips for less strain and stress on radiographers and a more comfortable exam for patients. The sleek Lux 35 is Carestream’s lightest detector to date, making it easier for radiographers to transport and perform beside exams. It supports a variety of image processing options to assist radiologists, including tube and line visualization, pneumothorax visualization, EVP Plus, bone suppression and many more.

“The lightweight Lux 35 Detector helps ease stress on radiographers, especially when performing mobile imaging,” said Jill Hamman, worldwide marketing manager, Global X-ray Solutions at Carestream. “The detector’s ergonomic design allows for easier handling and provides a more comfortable exam for the patient.”

Carestream’s DRX-L Detector provides the largest field of view (17” x 51”) and the highest resolution to deliver high-quality leg and spine exams. A single-shot acquisition reduces patient dose, saves exam time, speeds workflow and minimizes repeats due to patient movement. The DRX-L Detector (see video link) supports a wide array of Carestream digital X-ray products, including the DRX-Evolution Plus, DRX-Compass and DRX-Ascend systems.

For facilities looking for an affordable way to upgrade to full wireless digital imaging, Carestream’s fast and light Focus 35C and 43C detectors offer high-quality image capture. These detectors are an ideal, budget-friendly way to tap the power of digital radiography.

“Carestream detectors allow facilities to conduct critical exams efficiently and seamlessly,” Hamman said. “They demonstrate our continued focus on innovation to benefit both patients and providers.”

To learn more about these advanced detectors, stop by the Carestream booth #7316 in North Hall during RSNA 2021.
