Comprehensive DICOM and HL7 testing solution offers enhanced crowd testing and smarter artificial intelligence

January 22, 2018 — QualiTest Group recently announced its improved Virtual Radiology Environment (VRE) testing solution for picture archiving and communication systems (PACS). The offering builds upon the original solution with enhanced crowd testing and artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities, enabling vendors to scale more quickly.

QualiTest’s VRE automation accelerator tests PACS for scalability and reliability, delivering a comprehensive answer for synchronized Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine (DICOM) and Health Level 7 (HL7) traffic. The VRE solution increases DICOM and HL7 test coverage, reducing efforts and cost by up to 80 percent. Integrating seamlessly with the latest automation tools, the solution supports external scripting and merges fully with all other AI-driven systems.

As healthcare providers have grown increasingly dependent upon the reliability and scalability of PACS, these systems have become increasingly complex and vendors have witnessed them receive more data than they ever anticipated. However, though features can be verified simply, scalability is challenging to test. QualiTest’s VRE solves this problem by enabling vendors to simulate all the network patterns and data flows that naturally occur in the radiology industry, using its enhanced AI capabilities to generate extensive volumes of data from limited sets of inputs.

QualiTest demonstrated the VRE solution at the 2017 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) Annual Meeting, Nov. 26-Dec. 1 in Chicago.
