Artifacts from “once-in-a-lifetime archaeological find” scanned at company’s Connecticut research and manufacturing facility

Kubtec Supplies Imaging Equipment for Excavation of 3,500-Year-Old Greek Tomb

December 7, 2017 — Kubtec announced it has been selected to supply high-resolution X-ray imaging equipment to the international research team that discovered and excavated the 3,500-year-old Griffin Warrior Tomb in Pylos, Greece. The equipment will be used to further study this once-in-a-lifetime archeological find.

Sharon Stocker, Ph.D., who co-led the international research team from University of Cincinnati, described it as “one of the most magnificent displays of prehistoric wealth discovered in mainland Greece in the past 65 years.”

Kubtec recently welcomed Stocker and Prof. Jerry Conlogue from Quinnipiac University to the company’s Stratford, Conn., research and manufacturing facility where they used the Xtend Portable X-ray unit to image some of the findings in hopes of unlocking unsolved mysteries about the ancient civilization.

After her visit, Stocker thanked Conlogue, co-executive director of Bioanthropology Research Institute and professor of diagnostic imaging, for his expert assistance.
