Latest version of viewing platform adds patient-centric, hospital-wide imaging capabilities, and new cloud-based managed services for high reliability and uptime

Calgary Scientific Demonstrates ResolutionMD With AI Support

November 15, 2017 — Calgary Scientific announced advancements to its ResolutionMD enterprise viewing platform for improved image and data access, collaboration and diagnosis. The company will showcase the latest capabilities at the 2017 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference, Nov. 26-Dec. 1 in Chicago.

Enhancements include:

  • Support for artificial intelligence (AI)-based visual analysis, learning and interactivity. ResolutionMD can be seamlessly integrated with third-party AI visual learning systems, enabling faster analysis and improved clinical decision making;
  • Comprehensive patient-centric, hospital-wide access and viewing. With the latest release, ResolutionMD offers the broadest approach to non-DICOM integration, which allows hospitals to seamlessly view DICOM and non-DICOM images and reports, with new native support for cross-enterprise document sharing for imaging (XDS). This complements existing electronic health records (EHR)/electronic medical records (EMRs), and enables better patient-centric viewing across all departments in the healthcare enterprise, all within ResolutionMD; and
  • Cloud-based analytics to manage viewer deployments and increase reliability.  ResolutionMD Managed Services increase operational awareness and provide proactive support of on-premise or cloud deployments. With rich reporting and analytics overseen by a team of experts, hospital systems get premium enterprise viewer monitoring to increase reliability and uptime, and lower the cost of ownership.

"ResolutionMD is a leading industry provider for secure and scalable enterprise viewing solutions, and now with its new support for AI-based visual analysis and managed services, together with improved patient-centric, hospital-wide access and viewing," said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Dinesh Kumar. "Calgary Scientific is ideally positioned to make the most of healthcare shifts and mega trends such as enterprise informatics, artificial intelligence and big data analytics."

“We are excited about the direction of Calgary Scientific and its ResolutionMD platform enabling AI-systems to connect with image data. Their zero-footprint enterprise viewer is an excellent match for our deep learning-enabled diagnostics,” said Rob Russell, co-founder of Realize.ai, provider of deep learning solutions for radiology. “We look forward to working together to visualize and enable better clinical outcomes and improved quality of care, while also maintaining secure access across the healthcare enterprise.”
