Software provides real-time feedback on mammography image quality, including positioning and compression

Volpara Solutions to Showcase VolparaEnterprise Live! at RSNA

October 16, 2017 — Volpara Solutions will introduce VolparaEnterprise Live!, a mammography quality control tool, at the 2017 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) annual meeting, Nov. 26-Dec. 1 in Chicago. VolparaEnterprise Live! provides the technologist with real-time, quality feedback at the gantry. It calculates the patient positioning score, dose and compression pressure for each image within 30 seconds of acquisition.

The software is the only solution available, according to the company, that provides a comprehensive assessment of image quality on every mammogram, including positioning and compression, which the U.S. Food and Drug Administartion (FDA) attributes as the cause of most clinical breast image deficiencies and failures of accreditation.

Pending U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance, VolparaEnterprise Live! puts quality data in the technologists’ hands before the patient leaves the room. This helps optimize productivity, reduce costs through the reduction of retakes and increase staff effectiveness.
