Contract includes entire PicomEnterprise solution supporting all imaging specialties

ScImage Awarded U.S. Government DIN-PACS IV Contract

August 16, 2017 — ScImage Inc. was recently awarded a new DIN-PACS IV (Digital Imaging Network/Picture Archiving and Communications System) contract by the U.S. government. The contract is potentially valued up to $400 million, and the terms include one five-year base period and one five-year option period.

ScImage’s PicomEnterprise accommodates various imaging specialties with a single database-driven core framework, setting it apart from other PACS vendors according to the company. Modality-specific image visualization and reporting methodologies, along with end-to-end encrypted, location-independent secure data access based on user roles, allow the solution to deliver scalable functionality with minimal infrastructure. The platform also features natively built result distribution mechanisms to make it a companion to any electronic health record (EHR).

ScImage has been providing products and services under a previous DIN-PACS contract for the past three years, including Cardiology PACS installations at six Department of Defense medical facilities.  ScImage’s prior contracts have included projects for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VHA), the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine, and Indian Health Services.
