Company accepting worldwide orders for orthopedic cone beam CT system, which will also be displayed at RSNA 2016

Carestream, OnSight 3-D Extremity System, orthopedic imaging, shipping in December, RSNA 2016

November 11, 2016 — Carestream is accepting orders from healthcare providers across the globe and announced plans to begin shipping its OnSight 3D Extremity System in December.

The system uses cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) technology to capture weight-bearing and other types of extremity exams and will be on display at the 2016 Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) conference, Nov. 27-Dec. 1 in Chicago.

The new extremity imaging system can help with diagnosis and treatment for orthopedic conditions that affect the biomechanical behavior of the joints such as arthritis, meniscus loss, instability and malalignment syndromes.

Carestream’s extremity imaging system enables healthcare providers to capture high-quality 3-D images and conduct a patient consultation in a single visit — which helps improve productivity and convenience for both specialists and patients. An additional benefit is the ability for patients to view a 3-D image that illustrates their condition or injury to help them understand the reason for a treatment or surgical procedure.

This system is not available for commercial sale in Canada.
