Move will make advanced image processing available to handheld, compact ultrasound systems

ContextVision, US PLUSView ultrasound enhancement software, iOS

July 11, 2016 — ContextVision has signed a contract to bring its US PLUSView ultrasound image enhancement software to hand-held iOS-based mobile devices. The move will make advanced image processing software available on small hand-held devices, making ultrasound examinations reachable and affordable to more users outside traditional clinics.

As ultrasound devices shrink and make ultrasound technologies available for more users outside of radiology, image quality becomes increasingly critical. With image enhancement provided by ContextVision, system manufacturers can provide users the best image available, enabling them to perform more accurate and faster diagnosis.

ContextVision said US PLUSView offers a number of features for hand-carried use, including:

  • Superior edge enhancement;
  • Excellent soft tissue differentiation;
  • Enhanced margin continuity;
  • Efficient line connectivity;
  • Clear lines and edge conspicuity; and
  • Great grayscale contrast.
