Elevating the standard of care for breast cancer patients

Gamma pro, kubtec

Kubtec announced the launch of the Gamma-Pro Node and Seed Location System for use in breast seed location and sentinel lymph node biopsy procedures. The Gamma Pro System is the best-in-class tool for detecting radioactive seeds and sentinel nodes in patients undergoing breast cancer surgery.

With real-time feedback and the most sensitive detection technology, the Gamma-Pro System enables breast surgeons to precisely locate radioactive I-125 seeds, and nodes injected with 99-mTc. The Gamma-Pro System is capable of detecting nodes and seeds up to 8 mm deep, enabling use with patients of all body types.

“The Gamma-Pro Node and Seed Location System expands our commitment to breast conserving surgery and is the perfect complement to the Mozart System with TomoSpec Technology”, said Vikram Butani, president and chief executive officer of Kubtec. “The Mozart System changed the future of specimen radiography by bringing 3-D imaging into the OR. Now, Kubtec brings advanced BSL and SLNB technology to breast surgeons with Gamma-Pro. This gives breast surgeons more tools to achieve the highest standard of care for breast cancer patients.

“We are pleased to launch the Gamma-Pro System in the month of October”, he added. “It is the way we, at Kubtec, honor our commitment to fighting breast cancer during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”
