Custom solution features image ingestion, order creation and EMR result notification

June 4, 2015 - UltraRAD Corp. announced the signing of a partnership agreement with Seattle Children's Hospital, a 323-bed hospital and research center dedicated to pediatric and adolescent healthcare.

Seattle Children's delivers superior patient care and advances new treatments through pediatric research. They are also the pediatric and adolescent academic medical referral center for Washington, Alaska, Montana and Idaho, and the primary teaching, clinical and research site for the Department of Pediatrics at the University of Washington School of Medicine.

The partnership will focus on continued enhancements to Seattle Children's UltraRAD solution that was implemented in 2012 for outside image ingestion.  Through the collaborative efforts done to date, the center has a fully automated image ingestion, order creation, patient normalization and electronic medical record (EMR) result notification solution. This has standardized their processes to improve patient safety by avoiding potential human error and reduced labor associated with outside image processing significantly. The UltraRAD solution has been pivotal in maximizing throughput and improving patient flow, especially in areas like orthopedics, urgent care, and the emergency department.

"We've been impressed with the comprehensive solutions offered by UltraRad and their ability to rise to any challenge we've presented to streamline our outside image ingestion process" said Cindy Price, radiology imaging informatics manager at Seattle Children's Hospital.
