System utilizes prostate imaging probe for precise targeting and delivery

Sonus. Enovare uro, ultrasound, prostate cancer, biopsy, MRI

February 18, 2015 — Sonus Imaging developed a new, advanced ultrasound system for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) targeted prostate ultrasound biopsy. The Enovare uro ultrasound system uses proprietary iVue and Xact grid technology, which provides needle placement with precision targeting and delivery.

Unlike other MRI fusion workstations that use electromagnetic tracking for probe position, which is subject to registration errors, the Enovare uro does not use electromagnetic sensors to estimate the correct site of the abnormal area to undergo biopsy. This functionality is achieved through Sonus Imaging’s proprietary software and prostate imaging probe.

The Enovare uro Ultrasound System is all-inclusive, with no separate workstation required.

The system is compatible with all MRI systems without any extra software being added or purchased for the MRI system itself. Other features include a 23-inch-wide LED True HD 1080p display for MRI targeted ultrasound biopsy, LDR, HDR and focal therapy.
