StatVideo EchoCart Telecardiology Telemedicine Cardiac Ultrasound Systems

February 7, 2014 — At Johnston Medical Center in Smithfield N.C., StatVideo’s EchoCart streams real-time images of babies’ hearts and live video conferencing over the web to pediatric cardiologists at Duke Children’s Hospital. EchoCart is a telemedicine system designed specifically for tele-echocardiography.

EchoCart enables video communication between caregivers and families and physicians who can guide the imaging procedure. It facilitates comprehensive understanding about the patient and family background.

The system streams over the web negating the need for leased lines and saving about $3,000 a year for Johnston Medical Center.

StatVideo and Rubbermaid Medical Solutions collaborated to produce the T38 EchoCart. Rubbermaid is a manufacturer of telemedicine carts.

EchoBox streams high definition and high frame rate echo images, and runs a variety of video teleconferencing software solutions including Cisco, Vidyo and VSEE.

EchoBox is used at Duke, Brigham & Women’s, Beth Israel Deaconess, UCLA, UC San Diego, University of South Carolina, Detroit Medical Center, Children's National Medical Center and Mt. Sinai Medical Center. StatVideo is an authorized reseller of Rubbermaid Medical Solutions.
