SafeCT Low Dose Scanner Add-On

November 25, 2013 — Medic Vision Imaging Solutions Ltd. announced it has recently signed agreements with three major healthcare purchasing organizations, namely Premier and Health Trust PG, to offer the SafeCT to thousands of their member hospitals and other healthcare providers at pre-negotiated special terms. Medic Vision was independently selected by each of the purchasing organizations as a preferred supplier of a vendor-neutral image enhancement solution for low-dose computed tomography (CT) scanning.

“We are honored to have been selected by such prominent group purchasing organizations as Premier and Health Trust,” stated Eyal Aharon, CEO of Medic Vision. “Our strategic alliances with these organizations are expected to expand the use of SafeCT to hundreds of new healthcare facilities each year, enabling them to offer improved patient care by providing diagnostic-quality images for CT scans acquired with low radiation protocols. Being a network-central system, SafeCT can be remarkably cost effective, with cost per CT scanner at only a fraction of the price of alternative solutions.”

Using proprietary, patented 3-D iterative image reconstruction algorithms, the add-on SafeCT has already delivered high-quality images for more than 100,000 patients who have undergone low-dose CT scans, eliminating the need to upgrade existing CT systems with costly OEM solutions. SafeCT is currently in routine clinical use at major hospitals and imaging centers nationwide, supporting CT scanner systems from all manufacturers, including GE, Philips, Siemens and Toshiba.

SafeCT is available in Standard Edition for small hospitals and practices and in Enterprise Edition for larger organizations with multiple CT scanners and sites. SafeCT Enterprise Edition is a fail-safe, scalable, high-performance version of SafeCT, comprising a cluster of SafeCT servers and proprietary grid computing technologies to provide continuous, real-time iterative image reconstruction functionality to all CT scanners on a network through fail-over, load balancing and parallel processing.
