Screening is being provided at rural locations in the Upper Midwest region using a mobile CT unit with Medic Vision’s add-on SafeCT.

May 29, 2013 — Imaging Solutions Inc. and Medic Vision Imaging Solutions Ltd. announced that an imaging partner is now able to offer routine high-quality, low-dose lung cancer screening services to the general public at rural shopping centers in the Upper Midwest, using a mobile computed tomography (CT) scanner unit fitted with Medic Vision’s add-on SafeCT system.

Using patented iterative volumetric image reconstruction algorithms, SafeCT delivers diagnostic image quality to studies acquired with low-dose protocols on any CT scanner from any major vendor. The SafeCT solution has been recently added to a mobile CT scanner unit, consisting of a GE LightSpeed 16 and a GE workstation. The SafeCT automatically receives the noisy images resulting from low-dose studies acquired on the scanner, processes them and transfers the resulting enhanced images in real time to the workstation without the need for any intervention by the technologist.

With the recent addition of SafeCT to its mobile CT unit, the Imaging Solutions Inc. partner is able to offer lung cancer screening services to the general public in both North and South Dakota, as its mobile CT unit provides imaging services at various rural areas throughout the Dakotas.
