August 30, 2012 – Viztek, the digital imaging solution provider, announced a new market, based on significant increase in interest in its small footprint Straight Arm digital radiography (DR) product among urgent care facilities recently opened and run by area hospitals.
The Straight Arm DR can improve workflow. For example, typical chest X-rays done with a computed radiography (CR) machine can take up to three to five minutes. With the Straight Arm DR, an identical procedure takes 18 to 20 seconds. This time difference allows the physician to make a diagnosis more quickly and, in turn, see more patients throughout the day.
The product features a 17- by 17-inch detector. With a small footprint, it helps hospitals avoid overcrowded rooms and provides more space for staff to maneuver. It allows for all imaging views that are required in radiology, including wheelchair and table work for maximum patient flexibility.
