November 30, 2011 — ETS-Lindgren announced the release of several new products and services related to MRI shielding. They include the next generation of LED lighting for magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) suite applications; a full scale and operational Auto-Seal II (AS-II) shielded door; and the Ferromagnetic Detection System (FMDS).

The company’s maintenance-free lighting systems are rated for 80,000 hours of usage and feature simple installation with plug and play connections. Compared to traditional incandescent lighting, the environmentally conscious LED lighting offers brighter images with reduced energy consumption, resulting in energy cost savings over time.

The AS-II high-performance shielded door is noted for its lightweight and simple mechanical operation, available with an optional automatic door opener/closer. The product is available in three distinct door configurations: RF-Shielded, Acoustic and Fire-Rated. Each door is distinguished by a pneumatically operated, bladderless, gasketless, fingerless, virtually maintenance-free RF sealing system; this ensures reliability while maintaining ease of use.

In addition, the company’s new MRI safety solution – the ferromagnetic detection system (FMDS) - enhances the security and safety around an MRI suite as it pertains to ferrous materials.

ETS-Lindgren will display all of the above products in its booth (#3629) at RSNA 2011.
