November 21, 2011 — VasSol’s Noninvasive Optimum Vessel Analysis (NOVA) technology provides physicians with detailed, quantitative information of blood flow through any vessel in the brain. Information provided includes velocity, volume and direction.

The system acts as a diagnostic and treatment tool for conditions including stroke and aneurysms. It provides important quantitative data on what's happening inside a blood vessel, as well as enhanced vessel visualization that magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) alone can't provide. No contrast injections are required, nor are patients exposed to radiation. It also reduces healthcare costs by helping patients avoid surgery.

FDA approved since 2001, NOVA is currently used by hospitals and imaging centers in the United States, Canada, Czech Republic, Korea, Switzerland and Italy. It is expected to debut in China by year-end.

VasSol will display the NOVA system in its booth (7007, Hall B) at RSNA 2011.
