LumitexMD, an innovator in surgical cavity illumination, has introduced a new version of its LightMat Surgical Illuminator, featuring an integral adhesive that makes it easier to handle and use, and provides a thinner profile for ORs and ASCs. This newest member of the LightMat family combines cool, bright, shadowless light with the lowest profile, optimum brightness and ease of use – all at the same economical cost.

The Ultra-Thin LightMat comes with Ultra-Brite technology. It also includes extra wraparound adhesives, helpful in particularly rugged (e.g., hip) or oily cases (e.g., breast).

LightMat is a flexible fiber optic panel that attaches to most surgical retractors and can be inserted directly into the surgical cavity. It can also be attached to suction devices or other instruments or used independently. It is a disposable, single-use-only device designed for surgeries with small incisions, vaginal and other deep cavity surgeries. Applications include gynecologic, oncology, plastic, general, spinal, orthopedic, pediatric and other non-laproscopic procedures.

The new LightMat has integral adhesive that's 1.5 mm thick and 15.2 mm wide, (70 percent thinner than the standard LightMat) and provides a high level of brightness. It can use a wide variety of light sources, including 300W Xenon and metal halide.
